On a dreary, overcast day, the art fair commenced in a windswept part of Santa Monica, GOAT Grumpiest Of All Time Shirt and a line of Ubers and black cars with VIPs stretched out waiting at the entrance. From across the globe, collectors, artists, curators, and the art curious gathered in two huge tents to see what’s next in the world of contemporary art and culture. An offshoot of Frieze magazine, Frieze was conceptualized as an international art fair by the title’s founders, with its inaugural event taking place in London in 2003. Twenty years later, the multiday showcase is one of the premier art events of the industry, with festivals in New York, London, Los Angeles, and Seoul. This year’s Frieze fair in Los Angeles included over 120 galleries presenting their works: There was a traveling marching band with an accompanying dance line playing out “Swag Surfin” (from performance artist Autumn Breon), cutesy inflatables the size of a small building (from ceramicist Alake Shilling) and bronze tortillas in a Chevy cargo van (an exhibition from artist Ruben Ochoa). And alongside these thought-provoking and memorable moments, was some great fashion.

If you can believe it, GOAT Grumpiest Of All Time Shirt fashion month for S/S 20 is finally behind us. Now that New York, London, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks are all merely not-so-distant memories, it’s time to reflect on what we saw both on and off the runways over the past 30 or so days. Recently, my fellow editors broke down the bag trends that are sure to blow up next spring, the brands that were most prevalent among the street style set this season, the pant style everyone wore in Paris, the shoe trends that reigned supreme, as well as the top runway looks from all four cities. If that wasn’t enough, I can promise you there is more to come, starting with this very post. After carefully scrutinizing all the street style snaps as they poured in from every city, it came to my attention that there’s a new It bag among the fashion set. Interestingly, it’s by a brand you might have heard of, but quite possibly not seeing as it only launched in 2017 (but has already become a favorite among fashion insiders, influencers, and even celebs). The brand I’m talking about is none other than Wandler, and the bag, called the Georgia, launched last month as a part of the F/W 19 collection. Before we get to the hard evidence (and by that I mean recent street style), I thought I’d share why I think the bag is on the way to fame. It’s a classic, baguette shape; small, but not too small; sleek and structured; comes in a handful of materials and colors (all of which are neutral for now); comes with a long strap and short top handle for carrying options; and, as far as designer bags go, isn’t astronomically expensive with the various versions currently available ranging from $765 to $1060. Considering that the bag is timeless in design, if one can budget for it, the price is warranted by its investment-worthiness. Combine these things with the fact that I have a knack for identifying It bags, and you should have all the information you need to just trust me on this one.
