After furloughs, layoffs, no raises and all the stress to go with it, I’m glad I didn’t. I can’t get a metal screen for the window in my classroom because it cost too much – never mind that the school gets broken in through that window. Nor will they give me a shade for that window, but if I put up a curtain (on a spring rod) during nap time to block out the afternoon sunlight – it’s considered a fire hazard. And I’m sorry – but since when are 3-year-olds developmentally ready to read and write cohesive sentences? I can choose the thoughts I wish to act on and how to watch my thoughts come into my mind and leave my mind like a leaf on a river floating past. I was so Happy to learn this. It was the start of my self acceptance and self love. It’s a very peaceful feeling. Also, we need to forgive ourselves to let go of the energetic pain that gets stuck in our bodies.
