Whilst still applying the design Be your own competition shirt directly to the surface of the garment using ink, DTG printing is a more recent development in terms of custom clothing. Direct to garment printing relies heavily on modern technology. It uses digital printers to apply the ink to the fabric of the item being customised. Artwork is converted to image file format, the clothing prepared and the design printed straight onto the material. It works in a similar way to the inkjet printer you probably have in your home and office. We just use material instead of paper.
Be your own competition shirt, hoodie, sweater, longsleeve and ladies t-shirt
Kingteeshops sent out two t-shirts a while ago and they have been sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks Be your own competition shirt. I am very impressed with the designs as well as the quality of both shirts. The first t-shirt I am going to talk about is Rock Energy by and artist called LUIS NCT. It’s a slightly abstract image a guitarist doing his thing. The artwork seems to combine a few styles. Sometimes it looks like it was created with a Sharpie and other times like it was a from a woodblock print. The core design looks like it jumped straight out of a comic book. It’s a little hard to understand what’s going on around the head but despite that, I love the design.
The print is very soft and the detail impeccable. The t-shirt itself is black and 100% cotton. I’ll be wearing this one. The t-shirt is a Stella Invents Slub Organic Deep Round Neck Raw Edged Collar and Rolled Up Sleeve T-shirt. That’s quite a name, but it was such an accurate description I thought I could just use it. For an SS, it is quite loose but it’s the intended style and while it doesn’t look particularly flattering in that photo, it is a nice shirt. It’s creme colored and has the same tags as the first shirt.
