Bowling For Soup Xmas Christmas shirt
The crisp December air always had a special bite, the kind that made my nose turn a cheerful red, the anticipation bubbling just beneath the surface. It was a feeling I associated with frosted windowpanes and the urgent, joyful scrabble to find the perfect gift for Mom – she’s notoriously hard to shop for. And, of course, the soundtrack that fueled this holiday frenzy, the pop-punk, power-chord goodness of Bowling For Soup’s Xmas Christmas shirt. I remember first hearing it in the old, beat-up hatchback my older brother drove, the volume cranked so high the speakers threatened to blow.

That song, with its tongue-in-cheek lyrics and infectious energy, became woven into the fabric of my Christmas memories. It wasn’t just a song; it was a feeling. A feeling of pure, unadulterated excitement for the holidays, a celebration of the ridiculous and the wonderful. The song always brought me back to my best friend, Mike, who would start sending texts a month early about the Christmas present. We’d crank it up while decorating the tree, a clumsy dance of tangled tinsel and misplaced ornaments in a valiant attempt at festivity.

I loved that blend of sarcasm and genuine holiday cheer; it felt like it understood the chaos. It didn’t try to be something it wasn’t – sugary sweet and forced. It was real, just like the slightly burnt cookies we always made, or the arguments my family would get into over who got the biggest slice of pie. It felt like a Christmas with all the messy bits, like my mom’s insistence on getting her favorite weird fruitcake, even though nobody ever actually ate it.

Over the years, the song has evolved. It’s no longer just a tune; it’s a portal. A portal back to childhood Christmases, full of wonder and a whole lot of noise. Whenever I hear that opening riff, it’s like a time machine whirs to life, carrying me back to my bedroom, plastered with posters, the familiar scent of cinnamon and pine needles drifting from the living room. Now, when I hear it I have a strong urge to get a bowl of popcorn and have a christmas movie marathon with my significant other.

Even now, as a slightly more mature version of myself, I still get that familiar surge of giddy excitement whenever “Xmas Christmas” fills the air. It’s an instant mood booster, a reminder that the holidays, with all their imperfections, are a truly special time. It brings me back to the times I was younger, and I would spend the night at my grandparents house, and we would watch christmas movies all night long. The song reminds me of everything good and true and real.

And so, every Christmas, I’ll happily crank up the volume, let the song wash over me, and revel in the unapologetic chaos of the season. Maybe I’ll even bake some cookies (though, let’s be honest, they still probably won’t be perfect). Because in a world that can often feel too serious, a little bit of Bowling For Soup is exactly what my holiday spirit needs. It is my own personal christmas spirit.

Nice shirts for the price
I am happy with the shirts, the are not so heavy and not so thin. the quality is good. I wear size M, but I was thinking to buy size L because most the reviews complaint about the shrinkage. anyhow, I decided to buy size M, when I got the shirts they were quite large for size M. after I washed and hot dried them, they shrink a bit, now they fit me very well. the only complaint is the color. i bought army green, but I was expecting a little bit more darker green. the army green I got is quite old, looks like Vietnam war green…
