Coochie Muncher shirt
Okay, here goes nothing. Writing about something like Coochie Muncher shirt… well, that’s certainly not something I expected to do today, haha. Thinking about it, the phrase itself just sounds… rough. I picture some guy, maybe a bit too loud, probably at a bar, sporting something like that. It’s the kind of thing you’d probably roll your eyes at, maybe even scoff. Honestly, my first reaction isn’t one of shock, it’s more like, “Really? You’re wearing -that-?” It just feels… crass, doesn’t it? Like something someone might wear to try and get a reaction.

I remember once seeing a guy with a shirt that had some crude slogan about beer. I remember thinking, “Wow, he must -really- like beer,” and then immediately moving on. I think that’s the thing – shock value only goes so far. Eventually, you just get desensitized. Unless it’s your friend, and then you’d probably spend the rest of the night teasing them relentlessly, maybe even borrowing the shirt for a laugh at the next party.

The whole thing reminds me of a conversation I had with my sister. She’s got this super dry sense of humor, and she was going on about how people use shock value instead of actual wit. She has a point. It’s easier, isn’t it? Throw out something provocative and wait for the gasps. Building a joke, crafting something clever… that takes time, and actual brainpower. I’d much prefer a good, clever joke than a poorly chosen shirt. I’m picturing the fabric now – probably some cheap, scratchy cotton. The kind that shrinks in the wash and loses its color after a few washes. You know, the sort of shirt that ends up relegated to the bottom of the drawer, used only for painting or yard work? Or, maybe it’s one of those super-soft, expensive shirts. The kind that you can almost see the thread count. Now -that- would be an interesting juxtaposition, the crude phrase on something luxurious.
I suppose, in a weird way, it could also be a statement of sorts. Maybe someone is trying to be deliberately offensive, or maybe they just don’t care about social norms. It makes me wonder about the person wearing it, what their motivations are, their personality. Maybe they’re just completely oblivious to the message it’s sending, they may just think the words are funny and that’s it. Some people truly aren’t aware of the impact.

Awesome shirts!
These shirts are great. There are many reviews stating that they are not heavyweight but they are much heavier than the regular ones. Also, I would order one size larger than normal because they do shrink in the wash. I purchased the white and they are very bright and not faded at all and unlike many T-shirt’s, they are not too narrow but just the right width. Definitely worth purchasing.
