Hockey belongs in the desert shirt
The Arizona sun, a relentless enemy for most outdoor activities, would be an odd backdrop for ice hockey. Seriously, envisioning a puck sliding across the desert sand feels utterly absurd. Yet, the existence of the Arizona Coyotes, a team carving out its place in the NHL, proves the impossible can become reality. I remember when they first arrived; there was a palpable sense of disbelief among the locals, followed by a hesitant curiosity. Could this truly work? Hockey, with its inherent coldness, in a place perpetually bathed in heat? I initially thought it was a bit crazy.

The first few games I attended, the arena felt…different. The air conditioning fought valiantly against the desert heat, and the crowd, a mix of seasoned hockey fans and curious newcomers, generated an excited buzz. It was a novelty, a spectacle. It wasn’t the traditional hockey experience I knew from TV, yet it had its own flavor. The sight of the ice gleaming under the bright lights, juxtaposed with the dry air, was uniquely Arizona. I even noticed the Zamboni driver seemed to struggle a bit with the heat when getting the ice ready.

Over time, that initial skepticism softened into genuine appreciation. The team, despite its struggles, slowly began to build a loyal following. The passion of the players, the speed of the game, the raw physicality – it all resonated with people, even in this unconventional setting. I began taking my niece to games; she adored the energy and excitement. She’d get so excited, almost too much, and I was perpetually afraid she was going to accidentally fling her hotdog at someone during a particularly intense play. Attending games in the desert is different than watching it on TV, or reading about it online, it just has a special quality. The pre-game tailgates in the parking lot – often accompanied by the smell of grilling meat and the stark contrast of hockey jerseys with shorts and sandals – are undeniably Arizona. The players themselves seemed to embrace the environment, too. I remember one time, I saw one of the Coyotes players at a local store wearing a cowboy hat.

I bought this to purposefully be oversized so I order a size XL. It’s very comfortable and holds up well in the wash. It’s a conversation starter and always a big hit. I like to wear with my bicycle yoga shorts.

The shirt looks exactly like the picture. It is true to size(I got a 2XL to be oversized and it goes to around mid thigh)and the material is thick and seems durable. It did not shrink(or at least not noticeable) after washing.

Great price and nice fit.
This product fits great. I have a 44 inch waist and I am 5’8” tall. These fit me nice but not too snug leaves enough room to breathe. The material feels thick but not tight and itchy. Great product for the price
