Fashion month is off to a strong start. Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson 1999 2024 Shirt Our team of editors had lots to say about everything we witnessed at New York Fashion Week, and we already have a short list of trends to watch for spring/summer 2024, including buzzy pieces such as capri pants, voluminous circle skirts, and satin evening coats. While the clothes on the runways are often the center of attention, so are the street style looks. It’s always an interesting moment where we see how the latest trends and new arrivals are translating to what fashion insiders actually want to shop and wear. After attending NYFW this season, I observed some cult finds that are dominating the street style scene among the best dressed fashion insiders. From the silhouette that is taking over to the designer finds everyone is investing in to the shoe style that was practically everywhere, these are the key items to have on your radar. Ahead, see how the street style set is styling them and shop my edit. We’ve been charting a movement toward A-line silhouettes from the fall/winter 2023 runways, and that shift is now evident on the street style scene. At New York Fashion Week, the style set opted for dresses and skirts with flared, full shapes from brands such as Bottega Veneta, Khaite, and Carolina Herrera. We are seeing this shape continue in the spring/summer 2024 collections, so you can rest assured these pieces are smart investments that you can wear long beyond this season.

Last season, there was a clear ’90s directive when it came to minimalism, Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson 1999 2024 Shirt with logo vests, low-slung trousers and tube dresses as hero items. Now, things have been pared back even further; sure, Y2K maxi skirts and oversized suiting are very much a thing, as witnessed on the runways of Bottega Veneta and BOSS, but the silhouettes are cleaner and the colour palette even more refined. “After the outright outrageousness of various Y2K comebacks, I’m pleased to see a palette-cleansing take on ’90s fashion coming to the fore,” says Who What Wear UK editor-in-chief Hannah Almassi. “This was the peak moment for brands like Jil Sander, Calvin Klein, Helmut Lang and many more names whose special brand of clean-cut is being referenced once again for 2024. I’m very much here for this grown-up take on plain outfit ideas, and I think it will be a powerful way to craft a workwear wardrobe in the coming months.”
