Tottenham set price for Son Heung-min

Tottenham want to keep Son Heung-min and decided to “shout” a high price to prevent other clubs from approaching.

Football Asian reports that coach Thomas Frank highly values and wants to rely on Son Heung-min’s leadership at Tottenham in the upcoming season. The new Spurs manager is said to hold great respect for the club captain and is ready to keep him in the squad for the 2025/26 season.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy also respects Frank’s wishes. According to TBR Football, LAFC from MLS held talks with Tottenham regarding Son’s future, as the Korean star only has one year left on his contract. However, Spurs demanded £55 million, which caused the American club to hesitate.

The £55 million price tag is considered too high for a 33-year-old like Son. Nonetheless, Tottenham believes his commercial value and global influence remain enormous, making him a significant asset to any club.

At present, the Korean football icon is expected to stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for at least another season, especially as the club prepares for a tough return to the Champions League.

Tottenham’s current issue lies in their overcrowded attacking lineup. After signing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham and permanently acquiring Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, Coach Frank now has up to six forwards in the squad. Additionally, Yoane Wissa, one of Frank’s former players at Brentford, is also reportedly being targeted by Spurs.

Tottenham is considering selling Richarlison, who has attracted interest from Palmeiras in the Brazilian top flight.
